Setting up and testing lighting control systems for live event production used to be pretty simple, and it’s increasingly becoming more digital and networked. This 3-day class covers how to set up, test, and troubleshoot DMX, Ethernet, and Art-Net systems, use RDM to quickly and remotely configure and monitor your equipment, as well as program and run the lighting from a console or computer running lighting control software with an emphasis in hands-on activities and learning. The programming portion focuses on workflow and less on syntax, although some basic console-specific syntax will be covered in order to complete the exercises. Hogs and grandMA are usually available for this class although any PC version of a lighting console can be used.
